Hunn Development is an innovative real estate development firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. Our commitment and passion for land development projects includes all types from Residential Subdivisions, Commercial, Retail and Mixed-Use projects all the way to Master Planned Communities. We partner with private investors, land holders and other developers to improve the communities of Arizona.
We prioritize the early involvement on any given project in a true collaborative approach and create budget and schedule efficiencies while minimizing project risks. As your trusted advisor, we thrive on developing projects that are more than just a building but rather an integral and memorable part of our community. We are not a professional services firm and do not utilize any internal professional engineering licenses. We contract with the needed design professionals to accomplish our goals.

The small structure of the firm guarantees you have a true partner throughout every aspect of the process – from start to finish. Our goal is to better the community by integrating responsible developments in the Arizona market that bring a good return to our investors both in dollars and pride from having been involved.
History
Duane Hunn has always been a visionary entrepreneur. After his initial career in civil engineering, the creation of a new consulting design firm in 1998 and the merging of his firm with Carter Burgess in 2003, Duane discovered his passion to be part of the entire development process – from acquisition through construction – and to be a true partner throughout. Duane’s passion became reality over the last twelve years, starting in 2007 when Hunn Development was founded.
We have teamed with landowners and other developers to reach their vision on numerous projects in various roles as manager of the entitlement effort, owner representation during construction, and full overall project manager from initial feasibility thru construction. Our experience spans the industries of single family residential, multi family / student housing, thru regional shopping centers and mixed-use projects. Heavy infrastructure to support our projects has always been a strong point in our experience.
Leadership
Duane Hunn - Principal
As a professional civil engineer and real estate development executive, Duane differentiates 33+ years of entrepreneurial and project management success by a unique talent for combining complicated technical knowledge with interpersonal and communication excellence. Able to create and communicate the vision, develop and implement business plans, and identify strategic partners and opportunities, a leader who sees the big picture while managing the smaller details. Having led multiple high profile and complex land development projects, Duane brings demonstrated project management and operational experience to Hunn Development Co.
As a licensed professional civil engineer, Duane began his real estate development career in 1986 as a consultant to developers, homebuilders, public agencies, retailers and owners. He has recently been involved in several development projects in Arizona managing the design teams, coordinating with agencies on entitlements, working with contractors to establish budgets and timelines and oversight of construction projects.
Prior to his real estate development career, Duane created a development oriented consulting firm eventually merging with Carter Burgess where Duane helped to grow the Phoenix office of the national firm to the 2nd largest firm in Arizona, and served as Director of Development and Associate Principal for Arizona Operations. After graduating with a degree in Physics from McPherson College in McPherson KS, Duane studied Civil Engineering at the undergraduate then graduate level at the University of Houston and Arizona State University. Duane is a native Arizonan and lives in the Phoenix area.
