Project Description

Marana Center is a 170-acre mixed use development situated in the Town of Marana, Arizona along the east side of Interstate 10 at Twin Peaks Boulevard. Development of the property began in late 2013 with design of infrastructure needed to support the new Tucson Premium Outlets mall constructed by Simon on the south 40-acres and excavation of a large archaeological site required under the Section 404 Permit. Due to obligations from Simon the Infrastructure had to be completed in time for the grand opening in October of 2015. The outlet mall consists of 366,000 square feet of open-air shops and restaurants.

Hunn Development was brought in by Vintage Partners at the due diligence phase as the project development manager with specific responsibility to manage the design and construction of the $16M phase 1 Infrastructure. Hunn Development worked closely withthe Town of Marana and other agencies involved to expedite the design and also acted as liaison between the Simon design team for the Outlet mall and the Town. The successful implementation of an expedited design and approval process by Hunn Development led to the project being awarded the Common Ground Award which recognizes exemplary projects who create a prosperous community by promoting collaborative real estate development policies, building partnerships, and finding common ground.
